LIFE IN D.C.Overview
The United States Capitol
 |
Participants in Live.Learn.Intern. programs have the opportunity to live, work and study in the nation's most powerful city.
Program participants are housed on the historic Georgetown University campus.
Students take classes at Georgetown University, a traditional collegiate setting in one of Washington's most historic and attractive residential neighborhoods. In addition to living in D.C., students are placed in a variety of internships across the metropolitan area, all easily accessible to public transportation.
Students also have the opportunity to take advantage of the extensive amount of inexpensive or free cultural and site- seeing activities that Washington has to offer, such as:
- Exhibits at Smithsonian museums
- Marine Corps concerts at the Capitol
- 4th of July fireworks display
- Free shows on Millennium Stage at the Kennedy Center
- Jazz concerts in the Sculpture Garden at the Hirshhorn Museum
- The National Zoological Park
- and more!
With something new and exciting always happening in the city, students have the opportunity to explore all that D.C. has to offer!
“Nothing could ever take back the experience that I have had in Washington, DC and people that I have met along the way.”
