LIFE IN D.C.

Overview

You never know who you'll run into on the streets of D.C. (interns with Bill Clinton)

Participants in Capital Semester programs have the opportunity to live, work and study in the nation's most powerful city.

Housing for all students is provided in the charming Capitol Hill neighborhood of Washington.

Students take classes at Georgetown University, a traditional collegiate setting in one of Washington's most attractive and distinctive residential neighborhoods. In addition to living in D.C., students are placed in a variety of internships across the metropolitan area, all easily accessible to public transportation.

Students also have the opportunity to take advantage of the extensive amount of cost- free cultural and site- seeing activities that Washington has to offer, such as:

  • Exhibits at Smithsonian museums
  • Marine Corps concerts at the Capitol
  • 4th of July fireworks display
  • Free shows on Millenium Stage at the Kennedy Center
  • Jazz concerts in the Sculpture Garden at the Hirshhorn Museum
  • and more!

With something new and exciting always happening in the city, students are encouraged to make the most of their D.C. experience!

"I grew socially, academically and professionally, which I never thought was possible. Academically, the professors really challenged me to step outside of the box. Professionally, I couldn't have asked for a better internship. Capital Semester was the best experience I've had."
