LIFE IN D.C.

Overview

Capital Semester students enjoy some free time on the lawn of the Capitol.

Participants in Capital Semester have the opportunity to live, work and study in the nation's most powerful city.

Housing for all students is provided in the charming Capitol Hill neighborhood of Washington.

Students take classes at Georgetown University, a traditional collegiate setting in one of Washington's most attractive and distinctive residential neighborhoods.

In addition to living in D.C., students are placed in a variety of internships across the metropolitan area, all easily accessible to public transportation.

Students also have the opportunity to take advantage of the extensive amount of cost-free cultural and site-seeing activities that Washington has to offer, such as:

  • Exhibits at Smithsonian museums
  • Marine Corps concerts at the Capitol
  • Free shows on Millennium Stage at the Kennedy Center
  • Jazz concerts in the Sculpture Garden at the Hirshhorn Museum
  • and more!

With something new and exciting always happening in the city, students are encouraged to make the most of their D.C. experience!

"Looking back at my time in Washington D.C. and specifically on Capitol Hill, I can say that it was one of the highlights of my life. Living in such a beautiful place, you can truly see the capital city in all its glory."
